Printed map. 3 visual scales [107 mm = 3 Milles de Livonie or Lieflandische Meilen]. Originally published in Atlas von Liefland oder von den beyden Gouvernementer und Herzogthümern Lief-und Ehstland und der Provinz Oesel von Ludwig August Graf Mellin. Published by Mellin in 1798. The map was plate 8 in that atlas. Described in Maps in the Atlases of the British Library, v.1, p.675: “Some maps in this Atlas von Liefland have plate numbers in their upper right corners, not corresponding to their sequence in the atlas.” A Robert Clifford ownership label is affixed to the verso. A slip of paper was found inside the folded map. On one side is written, "Honble R. Clifford, Welbeck Street, 10." Number 10 Welbeck Street was his residence in London in 1804 and 1805. On the other side is a hand-drawn index showing 13 map sheets, of which number 1 is Riga. Acquired by McMaster University in 1969 as part of the Lord Cholmondeley Collection.
