Manuscript map. Cartographer uncertain. Visual scale [165 mm=400 toises [fathoms]]. This is a pictorial topographic map of the area around Maastricht (Netherlands). It shows both the Jaar River and the Meuze River. Displays buildings, fortifications, trees and roads. Appears to show roads and fortifications at different times on one map. One annotation has, “Lignes que les Ennemis ont fait en 1747”. The date of the map has been estimated from this annotation. Although no ownership label is present, this map is believed to have belonged to the Honourable Robert Clifford. Acquired as part of the Lord Cholmondeley Collection.
