The map is divided into two segments with one side showing the Atlantic Ocean and the coasts of Africa and Brazil, and the other side showing the archipelago of Fernando de Noronha. Three visual scales. Includes insets, "Coupe du fonds de la mer entre l'Afrique et l'Amerique depuis le Cap Tagrin jusqu'a Rio Grande avec les isles, vigies, et basses qui se trouvent dans la traversée des deux continents" and "Plan de l'Isle de Fernand de Noronha située sur les cotes du Bresil à l'E.N.E. de Rio Grande...."
