Description
Front: Caption on rendering: "Vue générale de l'intérieur. A general view of the interior." A sign at the back of the pharmacy says "PRESCRIPTIONS". Various glass showcases and flower vases fill the scene. "The Montreal Pharmacy was built in 1934 according to the designs of Quebec architect Raoul Gariépy. At the time of its opening, the interior was remarkable for its suspended ceiling decorated with silver leaves, beautiful frescoes, indirect fluorescent lighting, walnut satin-finish fixtures and clear-glass show cases. The upper floors housed the prescriptions laboratory which was entirely finished in black and white vitrolite and all furnishings in stainless steel. The structure still exists (2010) but no longer as a pharmacy. Instead, there are commercial services on the street level and condos in the upper levels." http://decoarchitecture.tumblr.com/post/9414366519/pharmacie-montreal-montreal-quebec-canada Back:
