Description
Front: Large three-storey house seen from the driveway. New Yorker A.G.P. Dodge, known as the lumber baron of the north, built Beechcroft in 1860, sparing no expense in creating his Xanadu of the woods. The estate is still intact as of 2016 and is privately owned at 25 Turner Ave. The TOWN was first called Keswick because the Keswick post office was established here in 1836. In 1870 it was renamed Roach's Point after settler James Roche and the spelling error was corrected 36 years later in 1906. In 1950 the apostrophe was officially dropped from the name. source:http://www.ruralroutes.com/6548.html Inscribed in ink at bottom right is " The two top windows are in my room" Back: Master R.J.
