Front: Scenic view of lake-front cottages. An "x" is etched atop a cottage on the right Handwritten at top: "x Lady Edgar's house surrounded by pines" Printed at bottom: "Published by Francis Young, Roach's Point, Ont" "In 1878 Sir James Edgar, MP for Ontario West Riding, and his wife Lady Matilda Edgar obtained the property. They transferred their house in Lefroy to the new estate, but after some time moved it across the road. They constructed a new house, but it burnt to the ground so they were forced to rebuild what is now the present structure. They called it 'The Bungalow' until they added a second storey in 1885 and re-named it 'The Pines' ... sold in 1912" Source: http://www.lorettomaryholme.ca/history.html Back: This will give you a little idea tho' the beautiful pines (with their perfume) do not show. The big house belongs to the Kilgours. Mrs. K. is president for the Dominion of the Y.W.C.A. I know her well here in Toronto. The roots are red and the water of the bluest.
