Description
Front: Large mansion. A window has been marked with a blue ink blot (see address-side note). The Home was founded in 1926 by Miss M.A. Booker in a small institution for the ordinary convalescent treatment of children at Kingsnorth near Ashford in Kent. In 1927 the Home was transferred to more extensive premises at The Warren, Sompting Road in Lancing. In 1930, at the request of the Hospital for Sick Children, Great Ormond Street special attention was given to children requiring nursing after treatment for rheumatic heart disease and soon the Home was entirely devoted to this complaint.
