Printed map. "[Entered] according to act of Congress, in the year 1850, by Thomas Cowperthwait & Co., in the Clerk's office...." Visual scale [40 mm=50 miles]. Includes insets: The City of Toronto and its environs and Vicinity of the Falls of Niagara. Reprinted with same title and imprint in [1851] and [1854]. Described in Winearls, Mapping Upper Canada 1780-1867, entry 96 (9a), p. 36: "L Superior inset deleted and two new insets added: 'THE CITY OF / TORONTO / AND ITS ENVIRONS' approx 1" to 3 miles, 'VICINITY / OF / THE FALLS / OF / NIAGARA' approx 1" to 9 miles; district names dropped; cos added: Bruce, Lambton, Huron, Perth, Waterloo, Halton, Wentworth, Peterborough, Renfrew; railways and proposed railways in Niagara inset." Acquired as part of the Hodsoll Collection.
