Includes inset, "Continuation of Smith's Sound to the northward on reduced scale." At head of title, there is an illustration which includes the Northern Hemisphere with a banner which reads, "The Dispatch Atlas". According to Tooley's Dictionary of Mapmakers, "The Dispatch Atlas, 1863, [was] itself originally published in the Weekly Dispatch as a part work, 1856-1862, plates later used yet again by Bacon & Co." (vol. 1, p. 240). The map may have been originally published in Cassell's General Atlas (London: Cassell, Petter and Galpin, [1860] or [1868]). McMaster has another copy; see RMC_107349.
