Plan of parks survey upon lot no. 9 in First Concession of the Township of Barton : [northwest sheet]
Description
At head of title, "(Copy)". "Surveyed January 1854 by Edmond DeClew, Cayuga February 15th 1854". Contrary to the transcription of the handwritten signature, the surveyor is likely Edmund DeCew. A similar subdivision plan is described in Joan Winearls, Mapping Upper Canada 1780-1867, entry B954, p. 688: "[W.A.] 'Park's Survey,' lot IX, 1st con, twp Barton; Wentworth St to Sherman Ave, Barton St to Ontario St, G.W.R. [Great Western Railway], Sherman's Inlet east of city". McMaster's copy has Sherman's Inlet spelled, "Shiermans Inlet".
