A map of the County of Oxford, reduced from an actual survey in 16 sheets, made in the years 1793 and 1794
Description
Printed map. "By Richard Davis of Lewknor, Topographer to His Majesty". "A Scale of Miles Two to One Inch". Insets: "A Plan of the City of Oxford". The map is divided into 16 sections by fine black lines. There is a Roman numeral in the bottom right corner of each section. It is apparently an index map to the original which was in 16 sheets. The British Museum Catalogue (v.4, p.851) refers to this map as a "reduction from the original." Acquired as part of the Lord Cholmondely collection.
