Printed map. "By Eman: Bowen Geogr. to His Majesty". Visual scale [94 mm = 12 British Statute Miles approximately]. Several paragraphs of information about the county, its cities, towns, lake, industry, etc. placed all around the map. List of seats of nobility and short historical list of the Earls and Dukes of Lancaster. Described in Smith, Antique Maps of the British Isles, entry 14, pp.108-113. McMaster's copy was probably produced as a separate sheet, before the publication of The Large English Atlas. McMaster's copy is missing the "sold by" note in margin which might distinguish the publishing date. Described in Chubb, Printed Maps in the Atlases of Great Britain and Ireland, entry CXCV, map 12, pp.157-159. Same map as later included in The Large English Atlas.
Printed map. Sheet has small map of Manchester affixed in the upper centre. This is not part of the original map. Two visual scales [6 = 6 statute miles approximately]. Includes inset: "The following process is inserted to gratify the curious in Geography, and in some degree to convey an idea of the Labour and Precision with which this survey has been carried on and completed." Acquired as part of the Cholmondeley Collection.
Printed map. Sheet has a small map of Liverpool affixed on the left side. This is not part of the original map. Two visual scales [6 = 6 statute miles approximately]. The letters for the Irish Sea, (excepting the "I") on Sheet 2 would have been covered over when the small map of Liverpool was pasted on, so someone has cut them out and pasted them below the smaller map. Acquired as part of the Cholmondeley Collection.
