Includes chart, "Astronomical observations on which this chart is grounded". Verso numbered, "10". Described in Sellers and Van Ee, Maps and Charts of North America and the West Indies 1750-1789, entry 258, p. 57: "2d State. In North-American pilot. plate 11. Imprint altered: Date of imprint advanced to 1786 and the name John Bennett deleted." Kenneth Kershaw's Early Printed Maps of Canada, volume II, describes a "third state" map with a variation of the imprint with "as the Act directs, 25th. March 1786" (entry 599, p. 224).
