Shows roads, street names, railways, tramways, moat, Menin Gate and Macadam d'Ypres à Menin, Lille Gate, ramparts, gasworks, etc., and all important buildings including the Cloth Hall and Cathedral. A key (légende) gives numbered list of 30 buildings corresponding to numbers on the plan. Ypres was the last Belgian town held by the British, and was a crucial bastion against a further German advance to the channel ports. Such town plans were crucial to the British occupation and defense.
