Handwritten lists with dates, currency details and more, relating to Roman history. Author unknown. Some text written vertically. Mathematical calculations near lower edge. Verso has handwritten lists under headings, "Vallum Antonii" and "Vallum Severinum" respectively. This item was discovered in a portfolio containing 20 maps of military camps during the War of the Austrian Succession. The original portfolio had a Robert Clifford ownership label but for conservation purposes the maps have been repackaged. It is stored with these military camp maps in Research Collections as supplementary sheet 1 recto, RMC_F57_suppl_1r.

Two handwritten chronological lists under headings, "Vallum Antonii" and "Vallum Severinum" respectively. Author unknown. Each list includes historical details with dates relating to these Roman walls or fortifications. Recto has handwritten lists under the heading, "Huntingdon". Sheet is laid in a Robert Clifford portfolio with 20 maps of military camps.

Manuscript map. Cartographer unknown but believed to be Robert Clifford. This item was discovered in a portfolio along with 20 maps of military camps of the War of the Austrian Succession. The original portfolio had a Robert Clifford ownership label but for conservation purposes the maps have been repackaged. The paper has a watermark with the date, "1809" surmounted by a fleur-de-lis. The place names annotated on the map in red ink correspond to the location of the the military camps. They also correspond to the names listed on the verso of the sheet accompanied by dates which are believed to relate to events in the War of the Austrian Succession. A grid is overlaid with squares numbered in Roman numerals which most likely correspond to map sheet numbers in a series of topographic maps covering the area. This item was discovered in a portfolio along with 20 maps of military camps of the War of the Austrian Succession. The original portfolio had a Robert Clifford ownership label but for conservation purposes the maps have been repackaged. The item is a handwritten list of place names and dates which appear to relate to events from the War of the Austrian Succession. The first 5 names appear to be locations in France with dates ranging from October to November of 1746. A horizontal line is drawn across the page and all names below appear to be locations in Italy with dates ranging from May to August of 1747. These names correspond to the camp maps and the annotations in red ink on the index map which can be found on the recto side of the paper. Author unknown. The paper carries the watermark of "J Jellyman 18_1" with the third number in the date being partially obscured by a red wax seal on the verso. On verso: a note addressed to the "Hon. Robt. The item is a note addressed to the "Hon. Robt. Clifford" from Thos. Wright of Henrietta Street, Covent Garden and dated 7 May, 1812. [Thomas Wright was a banker in the firm of Wright, Selby & Robinson]. The note pertains to a business transaction performed on behalf of Clifford and shows signs of having been folded and sealed with red wax. The paper carries the watermark of "J Jellyman 18_1" with the third number in the date being partially obscured by the wax seal. Ledger-like sheet with some headings, but little content. Handwritten along left edge, "Lost votes", "Ch Taylor" and "John Stancliffe" (surname uncertain). Author unknown. Numeric content is difficult to interpret, as are the recorded ticks overlapping and extending out from the "Stancliffe" signature. Watermark shows a crown above a date of 1794. Sheet is laid in a Robert Clifford portfolio with 20 maps of military camps.
