Stamped in red near right edge, "Grand Trunk Railway System / Drawing Office / Aug 7 1903 / Montreal / Chief Engineer" with "6815" written in black ink within the circle. Shows Grand Trunk Railway and the Canadian Pacific Railway, and the division line between the 2 railways. Coverage extends east from Hamilton at road between Concessions 4 and 5 to "Allandale" (i.e. Barrie). Located in Peel County, Ontario, 34.5 miles northwest of Toronto. Also known as Mono Road Junction. "Became Cardwell Junction in 1864, served by the Toronto, Bruce and Grey Railway in 1870, then the Hamilton & Northern Railway in 1876. Station not now in use. Population 29 in 1893 and 20 in 1908" (Floreen Ellen Carter, Place Names of Ontario. London, Ont.: Phelps Publishing Company, 1984. Vol. 1, p. 783). Acquired as part of the Hodsoll Collection.

Upper margin has page numbers "234" and "235" respectively, along with references to other atlas pages ("Quebec, page 242. New York, page 26. Michigan, page 76."). Likely from Cram's The Standard American Atlas of the World, although the source and date is unconfirmed. "Index of Ontario" on verso with pages numbered "236" and "233" respectively. This map is likely taken from same original source as McMaster map RMC_107365. Acquired as part of the Hodsoll Collection.

Includes 3 inset maps: Northestern part of Ontario; Dominion of Canada and Newfoundland; and, [Eastern townships of Quebec]. Also includes list of "Principal cities and places, with population and index" and "Distances between the most important cities." Illustration in the cartouche of two-headed eagle bearing the initials, "NPC". This map is similar to McMaster map RMC_107418, except that copy has an inset of South Africa rather than "Dominion of Canada and Newfoundland". Described in Catalogue of the National Map Collection, Public Archives of Canada, vol. 10, H1/1100-1899, p. 776: "The large map indicates in colour the counties, townships, major cities and towns, railways, roads and various physical features in Ontario and eastern Quebec. The inset map of South Africa was included because of the outbreak of the Boer war. The conflict aroused intense interest in Canada and was a much discussed subject."
